Vulvovaginal Candidiasis - Symptoms

Candidiasis is the most common vaginal yeast infection among women (and men in rare cases). The identifiable symptoms of Candidiasis include –


  • Intense itching in and around the vaginal region
  • Burning sensation around the infected vaginal area, which starts when the urine reaches the outside. With urinary tract infection, burning is felt as the urine passes down the tube on its way out
  • Soreness and redness around the infected area
  • Painful intercourse
  • Painful urination
  • General pain in the vulvar area
  • Vaginal discharge of thick substance resembling cottage cheese, and emitting odor like that of bread or beer, in some cases
  • Recurring infection in some cases that require immediate medical attention
  • Common Symptoms among men include burning the sensation of the penis during intercourse (especially when condoms are not used) and urinating, slight swelling, transient rashes, and discharge in some cases.



Balanitis - Symptoms

Balanitis is an exclusive male ailment and is characterized by the inflammation of the glans (tip) penis due to infection. The identifiable symptoms of Balanitis include –


  • Red patches and blisters at the end of the penis
  • Inflammation of penis head
  • Severe itching and pain generally in the penile area
  • Redness, inflammation, and scarring of the foreskin
  • Toughening and loss of elasticity of penis foreskin
  • If the disease is left unattended for long, confluent ulcerations may develop along with considerable edema of the penis.



Moniliasis - Symptoms

Moniliasis is a common yeast infection, which is widely believed to be the result of side effects of antibiotic drugs. The identifiable symptoms of Moniliasis include –


  • Intense itching and irritation in the genital area
  • Skin rashes around the infected part
  • Small blisters on the infected zone

Oral Thrush - Symptoms

As is evident from its name, Oral Thrush is a recurring yeast infection affecting mouth and throat and is most common among infants, elderly folks and newborn babies. The identifiable symptoms of Oral Thrush include –


  • Painless white, cream-colored, or yellow spots in the mouth
  • If you scrape off these spots, they’ll bleed slightly leaving small wounds
  • White skin plaques or flakes
  • White patches on the tongue
  • White patches in the throat
  • Lip rashes
  • White patches on the palate
  • Extreme irritability in some infants
  • Slight fever in an infant
  • Burning sensation in the mouth and throat of adults
  • Painful swallowing in some cases
